James flicked an unfriendly look at Stein, his expression forbidding any further questions. "Something like that." He switched his glare to Rip, who was looking entirely too pleased with himself. He knew the time master had to be aware of his real identity. The Winter Soldier might be unknown to most people, but he'd made the kind of impact on history that left an impression.
"Wait, Sergeant Barnes? Like, Bucky Barnes? Captain America's childhood best friend?" Ray was staring in disbelief. "Wasn't he supposed to be a really charming and friendly guy? I don't care how much you look like him, your winning personality isn't gonna cut it."
"I can fake it long enough to get what we need," James asserted. "As long as the Commandos aren't in camp, there's nobody there who would know... him... well enough to catch it. In and out, simple. Just me and Len."
"Oh, no, I'm not missing out on this chance," Ray insisted, eyes lit up.
"If the Commandos are out of camp, I assume you're going to claim you were sent back for the information," Stein said, frowning. "If that's the case, surely it's not believable only two people would have been sent all the way back to camp, a larger party would be more likely."
James grimaced. He wasn't wrong. It was believable that Steve would send him back to camp, but not without enough people to serve as proper backup in case they ran into an enemy patrol.
