Len glanced at James when he felt the other man's arm brush against his, and then did his best to studiously ignore it. Carter didn't seem to have noticed the little interchange, nor did she appear suspicious, so hopefully they could get through this without getting arrested or anything.
She rummaged through a file cabinet and handed James a rather slender file folder. "You'll return this to me when you're done, won't you?" she asked, eyes narrowing slightly.
